Developments
I always stopped to listen to the bird song
From the copse of oak beyond the lane.
No two concerts were ever the same.
But not now, because
the trees are long
Gone. Now there are houses there, and cars
That bang out Drum n Bass and old-skool
Hip-Hop – and a forest of streetlamps that spool
Out a canopy each night to catch the stars.
