Developments 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I always stopped to listen to the bird song 

 

From the copse of oak beyond the lane. 

 

No two concerts were ever the same.

 

But not now, because

 

                                       the trees are long 

 

Gone. Now there are houses there, and cars 

 

That bang out Drum n Bass and old-skool 

 

Hip-Hop – and a forest of streetlamps that spool 

 

Out a canopy each night to catch the stars.
